BMCA Is looking for a Summer Student

BC Museums Association is looking for a summer student to join our dynamic team in the role of Program Assistant! This position is contingent upon funding from the Young Canada Works program.

The Program Assistant’s main responsibility will be supporting administration, communications, public engagement and fundraising for our programs, with a main focus on our 2019 conference.

The annual BCMA conference is the only provincial conference focused on museum, gallery and history professionals, and one of the largest networking opportunities for museum professionals in BC. As our Program Assistant, you will take on tasks to grow your skills in marketing, communications, fundraising team management, event planning, and arts administration.

You will manage email campaigns, create social media initiatives, and seek out fundraising opportunities while providing the best assistance possible to our conference committee and staff. You will also organize committee meetings, and work with conference presenters to organize bios, photos, and PowerPoint presentations. Additionally, you will provide research and communication assistance regarding fundraising opportunities for our programs, including compiling statistics and reaching out to funders. You will also write a monthly blog post with highlights from archival materials, and be responsible for the continuation of our ongoing digitization initiatives.

Deadline to apply is April 15, 2019.
