The BC museum community is full of talented, innovative, and experienced museum professionals. The BCMA Mentors program draws on that talent pool to create mentorship pairings between mid- or senior-career professionals and emerging museum professionals (EMPs).
Mentorship pairs will be given guidelines and suggested framework documents but are welcome to create projects, timelines, and outcomes of their own. To see more about the BCMA Mentorship Program structure and requirements, please click here.
To participate in the BCMA Mentorship Program as a mentor, you must:
We recommend applicants have a minimum of 10 years experience working in the museum field, or a significant combination of experience and education, or significant experience in another field related to the BC museums sector.
Are you interested in becoming a mentor? Complete our mentor recruitment form by August 25 to get paired with an EMP beginning their career in your field.*
*Due to unknowns such as application numbers and varying employment fields, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a pairing. We will do our best to find a suitable match, but please understand some applicants may not be selected for this intake.
