The BCMA Conference registration dates are:

  • Regular: July 15-September 14
  • Late: September 15-October 19*

Registration fees in order of date are:

  • BCMA Members: $450 | $545
  • BCMA Student Members: $335 | $475
  • Non-Members: $565 | $630
  • Pre-Conference Workshop: $150 ($250 for non-members)

*Please note: Late registrations may not be available or may be for limited access depending on registration numbers in the Early-bird and Regular registration periods.

Please read carefully!

To register for BCMA 2018, please click the “Register Now” text above.  You will be redirected to a ticket registration page – click the green “Register Now” button and enter your email address.  Members, please enter the email associated with your membership. Non-members, please enter the email you wish to use for receipts and communications.

If you are unsure if your institution is a member, please speak to your supervisor.

In the following pages, you will have options to purchase a variety of tickets, including:

  • BCMA 2018 Conference Ticket – full registration for conference, including the BCMA Gala Dinner
  • Cultural Competencies Pre-Conference Workshop – this is a separate event ticket not included with the regular conference registration
  • Extra Guest BCMA Gala Dinner Ticket – Please only select this ticket if you want to bring a guest

Please note: If you are registering for the Pre-Conference Cultural Competencies Workshop, you will need to select that ticket separately.  The Pre-Conference Workshop ticket is not included with the main conference registration, and the workshop ticket does not include registration for the full conference.

You will be asked to “Assign Ticket.”  If it is your ticket, simply click “This is my ticket”.  If you are registering for another person or multiple people, please assign each ticket to the individual who will be attending conference and enter any special requirement information for them.

Tickets are limited and may sell out at any time.


  • Registration(s) cancelled before October 11 are subject to a $75.00 administration fee per registration.
  • Registration(s) cancelled on or after October 11 are non‐refundable.

The BCMA is excited to offer a limited number of volunteer positions for Conference 2018.  These include:

  • Registration Desk
  • Room Hosts (presenter and tech support)
  • OWL’s Bookstore Host
  • AV/Tech Support
  • Conference Photographer
  • General Purpose Volunteer (a “runner” as needed)

BCMA Conference 2018 volunteers receive:

  • Free registration for the “other” day at conference (i.e. the day the volunteer is not volunteering)
  • A BCMA Volunteer t-shirt
  • A letter of recommendation outlining roles and hours volunteered

Volunteers DO NOT receive free registration for the gala dinner.  All volunteers wishing to attend the October 22 gala will be required to purchase a ticket.

Volunteer applicants are encouraged to register early for conference.  If you are selected as a volunteer, you will receive a refund for your volunteer days.  Please note: if you register early, are not selected, and wish to withdraw, you will incur a $75.00 administration fee.

The deadline for applying as a volunteer is August 10.

Bursaries and other Financial Assistance

The BCMA offers a Travel Bursary for students and emerging professionals to attend Conference.  Click here to learn more and apply for the bursary.

BCMA Conference Hotel Information

The majority of BCMA 2018 Conference activities will be held at the Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort, 1310 Water Street, Kelowna, BC.  Book your room at the conference hotel today and stay close to the action!

Room rates are $185.00 (plus applicable taxes) per night between October 20-23, 2018 for a Standard Guest Room. Additional occupants 19 years and older will be charged an additional $25.00 per person per night.

Reservations must be received on or before September 21, 2018.

Complimentary shuttle bus service to and from Kelowna International Airport is available for all guests, and reservations are recommended.


Room Billeting and other accommodations options

If you are looking for other accommodations options such as room billeting, please consider using the BCMA Listserv or the BCMA Facebook Group to put out your request.  Please keep your requests concise, respectful, and include your contact information for potential billets.  Send your emails as normal to (and please remember, your email is distributed as-is, so do not include any language such as “please share this with your members”).
